Libby McFarland

Welcome to Little Squirts Aquatics - I’m Libby McFarland!  Some of my fondest childhood memories include being around water - lake trips,  swimming in my Mimi's backyard pool, and lifeguarding in my teenage years. I continued my love for recreation throughout college where I played collegiate softball for Pittsburg State University in Kansas (Go-Rillas!) There, I met my husband Mike, also a Kansas native. Years later, we settled in Northwest Arkansas (Woo Pig Sooie!) and have two ornery, lovable boys, Maxwell and Jackson.

I learned about survival swimming when my three year old niece was enrolled with SuperStar Aquatics in SE Kansas. I couldn’t believe the results after taking her early on and then at the end of her six week program.  I saw the one-on-one approach to the swim-float-swim technique firsthand and was sold. At that moment, I realized the importance of teaching our children lifesaving swim skills.

When my oldest son, Max, turned 6 months old, I started researching survival swim programs in NWA. I knew traditional swim lessons was not the right fit for our family and was disappointed to learn the nearest certified survival swim instructor was nearly 2 hours away!

For nearly 10 years, I worked in corporate accounting, but I craved a better work-life balance and wanted to pursue something I was truly passionate about. I decided to pursue my Infant Aquatics certification in the fall of 2015, founded LSA, and never looked back!  I’m proud to say I’m the first Certified Infant Aquatics Instructor to bring Infant Aquatics to our state!

My goal was to provide my family, friends, and other families in our area peace of mind around water. What I thought would be a nice side hustle for myself several years ago has turned into a growing and thriving business now made up of a team of AMAZING ladies. To say this profession is rewarding is an understatement. Thank you to everyone who has supported LSA and entrusted us with your child's aquatic education!
